GolfNow UK & Ireland is thrilled to announce the resounding success of their recent charity golf day, held in aid of Cancer Fund for Children. The event took place on Riverside Course at the prestigious Portstewart Golf Club on Thursday 20 June, raising an impressive £11,090 for this remarkable charity, smashing the company’s £10,000 target.

The event was generously supported by an array of sponsors including Nomadic Watches (official timekeepers), Bushmills Whiskey, Morelli’s Ice Cream, MAD Colour, Life Like Media, Enterprise Screen, Northridge Finance, FOX AV, Porsche Belfast, Eddie O’Connor Estate Agents, MacCauley Wray Solicitors and Right Price. The organisation of the day was also bolstered by our partners at Sky AdSmart, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Golf Genius, another key partner, provided the official scorecards and managed the live leaderboard, adding a competitive edge to the day. TaylorMade contributed a selection of fantastic prizes, heightening the excitement and competitive spirit among the 20 participating teams.

A highlight of the day was a spectacular hole-in-one achieved by Ryan Pollock from Team Right Price on the 15th, earning himself a luxury ‘Marai 401’ Nomadic watch courtesy of Nomadic Watches.

Alex Marchant, Marketing Manager, Nomadic Watches, said: “The team and I are thrilled to welcome Ryan to our Belfast HQ to collect his prize of a Maraí 401 watch. We look forward to rolling out the red carpet and giving Ryan a workshop tour, celebrating a fantastic achievement.”

Simultaneously, a dedicated team from GolfNow undertook a gruelling 72-hole challenge, raising additional funds and showcasing their commitment to the cause. Two teams of three tackled this arduous task in 15 hours and 17 minutes, further supporting the Cancer Fund for Children.

Cancer Fund for Children, dedicated to supporting families affected by cancer, was chosen as GolfNow’s official charity in honour of Gemma McClay, the late wife of GolfNow team member, Phil McClay. Phil’s personal journey and the support he and his two young daughters have received from the charity since Gemma’s passing in 2021, have deeply inspired the GolfNow team. This event stands as a heartfelt tribute to Gemma and a demonstration of gratitude towards Cancer Fund for Children’s invaluable support.

The day was filled with fantastic prizes and added value treats, creating a memorable experience for all involved. Prizes included a 4-ball on The Strand course at Portstewart, a TaylorMade fitting experience with a club of choice, a TaylorMade Flextech golf bag, GolfNow vouchers, Bushmills Whiskey 14-year-old single malt, Bushmills Whiskey 10-year-old single malt, and limited-edition Rory McIlroy TaylorMade Hi Toe wedges.

First team prize went to the team from Life Like Media (Matt Tumilson, Paul Kennedy, Jack Kennedy and Paddy Wallace).

Second team prize was won by Team Stewart (David Stewart, David Longridge, Andrew Kerr and John McCaffrey).

Third team prize was scooped up by MAD Colour (Jamie McMinnis, Craig McCormick, Roger Busby and Ryan Navan).

And the final closest to the pin prize, sponsored by Golf Genius, was awarded to Charles Hickland from Team Right Price, who also won a Limited-Edition wedge.
