GolfNow UK & Ireland is thrilled to announce the resounding success of their recent charity golf day, held in aid of Cancer Fund for Children. The event took place on the Riverside Course at the prestigious Portstewart Golf Club on Thursday 15 May. Building on the success of last year’s event we have raised an impressive £13,500 for this remarkable charity, smashing the company’s £10,000 target.
The event was generously supported by an array of sponsors including First Tee sponsors Northridge Finance, official timekeeper and hole in one sponsor Pride & Pinion and corporate partners TaylorMade, HPC, Life Like Media, Enterprise Screen, Cancer Fund for Children,Handleys Jewellery, Eddie O’Connor Estate Agents, Belfast Harbour, Ulster Rugby, Northstone, Right Price Coleraine, GolfNow and BRS Golf. The organisation of the day was also bolstered by our partners at Sky AdSmart, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Golf Genius, another key partner, provided the official scorecards and managed the live leaderboard, adding a competitive edge to the day. TaylorMade contributed a selection of fantastic prizes, heightening the excitement and competitive spirit among the 20 participating teams.
Cancer Fund for Children, dedicated to supporting families affected by cancer, was chosen as GolfNow’s official charity in honour of Gemma McClay, the late wife of GolfNow team member, Phil McClay. Phil’s personal journey and the support he and his two young daughters have received from the charity since Gemma’s passing in 2021, have deeply inspired the GolfNow team. This event stands as a heartfelt tribute to Gemma and a demonstration of gratitude towards Cancer Fund for Children’s invaluable support.
The day was filled with fantastic prizes and added value treats, creating a memorable experience for all involved. Prizes included a 4-ball at The Strand course at Portstewart, a TaylorMade club of choice, a TaylorMade Flextech golf bag, Portstewart vouchers, 4-ball and lunch at Ardglass Golf Club, GolfNow vouchers, Bushmills Whiskey and a limited-editionRory McIlroy TaylorMade Hi Toe wedge.
