GolfNow is excited to announce that on Thursday, 15 May, we will be hosting a charity golf day to support Cancer Fund for Children, thanks to the support of our sponsors, partners and clients.
Building on the success of last year’s event, which raised over £12.5k at the stunning Portstewart Golf Club, we are thrilled to return for 2025! The North Coast beauty spot will once again play host to the event, where golfers can look forward to warm hospitality, goodie bags, a pristine course, local food and drink, and fabulous prizes.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our headline sponsors, Sky Adsmart; First Tee sponsors, Northridge Finance; Official Timing Partner and Hole-in-One Sponsor, Pride & Pinion, who are generously offering a Rolex GMT-Master II for a hole-in-one on the fourth hole; and Longest Drive Sponsor, HPC. We also appreciate the generous donations from participants and prize sponsors.
Adding to the excitement of the day, GolfNow is delighted to host World League Fling Golfer, Paul Barran, who owns and operates the Iford Golf Centre in Bournemouth. Paul’s expertise in the golf entertainment industry and his personal story are fascinating, making his attendance a real treat.
Lisa Hartle, Partnership and Philanthropy Executive at Cancer Fund for Children, shared her thoughts in the run up to the event: “We are delighted that GolfNow chose to support Cancer Fund for Children for a second year running. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed last year’s event, commenting that it was one of the best golf days they have ever attended. The money raised was used to provide vital support and care to families impacted by cancer, helping them navigate the disruption, worry, and pain they face. We wish GolfNow and all the competitors good luck on the day and hope you all have an enjoyable round while raising valuable funds for the charity – thank you.”
For those unable to attend the golf day, there is still an opportunity to support Cancer Fund for Children by donating to our Just Giving fundraising page or by placing a bid on a silent auction item via our online Bidding Form.
Cancer Fund for Children is dedicated to supporting families affected by cancer and was chosen as GolfNow’s official charity last year in honour of Gemma McClay, the late wife of GolfNow team member Phil McClay. Phil’s personal journey and the support he and his two young daughters have received from the charity since Gemma’s passing in 2021 have deeply inspired the GolfNow team. This event stands as a heartfelt tribute to Gemma and a demonstration of gratitude towards Cancer Fund for Children’s invaluable support.
