Member app update
Last week we released a new version of the member booking app to bring it in-line with our responsive member website. With the new update comes some changes to the functionality for your members – we wanted to share the logic behind these and to assure clubs the technology team is working to minimise any disruption.
The current version of the app now mirrors the responsive member site. A key benefit of doing this is that when we release new functionality, like member guest payments, it will be available immediately on both platforms. This means that going forwards we can focus on enhancing functionality rather than duplicating effort.
Features like the buddy list, which were available on the app, differ from what is available on the responsive member site, which is why this option is now no longer available in the app. The decision not to include it was based on very low user traffic to this page. However, we now recognise that while it is not a frequently used page, it is key functionality for many club members.
We are currently investigating the best way of implementing this technically and once we have an estimate of what is involved, we will update our clubs partners and app users.
This was removed due to difficulty in making all options available at the top of the tee sheet in a responsive way. We wanted to ensure they would display on various devices without pushing the tee sheet further down the page.
We will need to review the interface to determine the best way to make this feature available without adversely affecting the main function of the page.
Some of our clubs and app users reported that they were unable to access competitions in the new version of the app. The tech team has added an open competitions link to the menu and this change went live yesterday. If your members are still having difficulty, please ask them to ensure they have downloaded the latest version.
