TERMS AND CONDITIONS (AMENDED FOR THE DURATION OF THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY):
These are the terms and conditions for booking tee times using our
Internet booking facility.

Payment

To book a tee time on-line you will have to enter your credit or
debit card details using our secure on-line payment process. Only 2 fourballs can be booked at any one time.

When you turn up for your round of golf, please pay any balance by credit/debit card. Cash transactions are not allowed.
You should report to the Pro shop before beginning your round.

Cancellation Policy
===================
The Harrogate Golf Club Ltd reserves the right to cancel or postpone any visitor booking at any time, without notice.

Visiting Parties (less than 8 players):  If you cancel your booking within 48 hours, no refund will be given.

Societies (8 or more players):  If you cancel your booking less than 14 days week in advance, we will only refund 50% of the amount paid for that tee time.  If you cancel your booking within 48 hours, no refund will be given.

Open Competitions:  If you cancel more than 28 days prior to the event date, we will refund 50% of the entry fee.  Thereafter no refund will be given.

If the course is closed on the day of play or the Professional deems it unplayable you will receive a full refund.

Booking Transferable
====================
The Booking is completely Transferable. Therefore, should you be unable to make your tee time, you can offer the tee time to someone else such as a family member or friend.

1.NOTES ON FEES:
Green fees are inclusive of VAT. Any other method of payment shall be agreed with the Secretary in advance. It should be noted that no member of a visiting party is eligible for introduction by a Member of the Club at a reduced rate.

2.COMPETITIONS.All visitors and guests of the Club are restricted to the playing of recognised forms of Competition on the Course,i.e. Match Play, Stableford and Medal. All Members of Harrogate Golf Club are encouraged to play with an urgency compatible with the playing of good golf and our Visitors and Guests are requested to do likewise.

3.INSURANCE. Whilst the club’s corporate insurance programme includes an element of liability protection we would recommend that all visiting golfers should ensure that they have adequate liability insurance operative prior to playing the course

4.HANDICAPS.All members of your party are expected to be members of recognised Golf Clubs and to have a current CONGU handicaps.

5.TROLLEYS. Wide wheeled trolleys only are permitted on the Course.  The permitted use of trolleys on the Course is determined by the weather conditions. The Course may be open for play but trolleys banned. In these circumstances all Members and Visitors are required to carry their clubs. If in doubt please telephone the Professional or check the course status via the website, www.harrogate-gc.co.uk

6.BUGGIES for single use are permitted on the course and are available to hire from the Professional at the hirer’s risk. Visitors are able to use their own buggies with prior agreement with the Professionals (users will need to provide details of their buggy insurance in advance). The Club have 4 buggies available to hire at £25 per round or £40 per day. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
Subject to weather and course conditions, it may be necessary to impose buggy restrictions.  We advise visitors to check our website for the current course status prior to arrival via the website, www.harrogate-gc.co.uk and selecting course status on the top right hand side, or by phoning the Pro Shop on 01423 862547.

7.CATERING. The Club catering service is currently available on a limited basis.  Please check details with the Club prior to your arrival.
   
8.DRESS RULE.  We should be obliged if you could draw the attention of members of your party to the Club’s Dress Code:

Members and visiting parties are required to wear presentable clothing in all the main Club rooms.  Overcoats, Waterproofs, Shorts or Golf Shoes of any type are not permitted.  Acceptable informal dress will be allowed in all areas of the club.

CLOTHING  - ON THE COURSE

Caps – to be worn with peaks forward at all times.  Caps and hats must not be worn indoors.

Shirts/Tops – Golf Shirts must have collars and sleeves.  Rugby/Football style shirts are not allowed.  Men and Junior boys to wear shirts tucked into trousers/shorts at all times.  Ladies will be permitted to wear tops outside of skirts/shorts/trousers provided that they are specifically designed to be worn as such.

Shorts – Tailored shorts only are acceptable.  Exclusions include Sports shorts, Beach shorts, Bermuda shorts, Denim shorts and “Cargo” style shorts with large patch pockets.

Trousers – “Cargo” style pants with deep side pockets are not allowable.  Similarly denim jeans are not allowed.

Socks – Socks must be worn at all times.  All recognisable “sports” socks (except football style) are allowed including “trainer” type socks.  When worn with shorts, socks are expected to be “colour co-ordinated”.

Shoes – Golf shoes only.

9.GOLF COURSE HELPLINE. Please ring prior to departure to confirm that the course is open on the day & the situation re: trolleys and buggies. The number to ring is 01423 860079/862547.

10.MOBILE TELEPHONES.  Please bring to the attention of your players the fact that the Club discourages the use of mobile telephones both on the Course and in the Clubhouse other than in an emergency.

12.SAFETY RULES & INFORMATION.

SAFETY RULES

1)   In the event of an Electric Storm, golfers must suspend play immediately and find appropriate shelter.
2)   Golfers must not tee off or continue play in Fog when they cannot see the clear distance of their intended shot.
3)   Golfers are advised that all artificial surfaces and grass slopes may be slippery when wet and must check and ensure to wear the appropriate footwear to meet the conditions prevailing on the Course at all times.
4)   Golfers must report all Accidents/Dangerous occurrences which happen on the Golf Course during play to an official or employee of the Club.
5)   All Buggy users must use the pathways provided and/or remain on the designated route at all times.
6)   Greens staff working on the Course must be given priority at all times and must not be approached whilst any machinery/equipment is in operation.
7)   Golfers are advised to report any medical condition or medication being taken to the Professional or Secretary/Manager prior to commencement of play.

For information:

a)   First Aid assistance and equipment is available within the Clubhouse.  (Contact the Steward or any member of staff).
b)   For evacuation purposes the Emergency Assembly Point is located in the Main Car Park.
c)   Golfers playing the 13th hole should not tee off until the notification Bell located on the left of the fairway has been sounded or they have visibly checked for clearance.
d)   Golfers using the 11th hole should note that the public have right of way when using the footpath on the right.
e)   Wooden shelters suitable for use in an Electric Storm are located on the 9th & 14th holes.  (Please make yourself aware of their location).
f)   Particular care should be taken when using the teeing grounds of the 3rd & 17th holes.
