Case Study - Ratho Park Golf Club

Having initially seen the system presented at a GCMA meeting and then shown a demonstration at Whitecraigs GC by Club Secretary Alan Keith, Craig knew it was exactly what he was looking for as a management tool. Craig has now been using the BRS Golf online booking system for two years, and to him it’s just like using the yield management systems he used in some of the UK’s top hotels - except that instead of rooms it’s about maximizing tee time and other bookings.

What Craig has found with the BRS Golf system is how much more effectively he has been able to manage Ratho Park’s key income streams such as societies, members’ guests and visitors, and provide a higher standard of service to them all from the moment they call the club to the point where he wants to ask them about their next visit.

The year 2009 has seen online tee time bookings worth more than £2.1m for the 360 golf clubs that use their BRS system, writes Charles de Haan, an increase of just over £1m on 2008. Even more impressive is the fact that in the UK 87% of those tee times booked were made by visitors going directly to the clubs’ websites and paying by credit card. The remaining 13% of online bookings came from the third party marketing channels like Teeofftimes.co.uk and Online Tee Times (teetimes.co.uk).

Case Study - Conwy Golf Club - Wales’ best goes for BRS Golf’s online diary and booking system

Now that the club’s installed the BRS Golf e-diary and tee booking system, wherever you happen to be in the world booking that game at Conwy is as simple as 1-2-3. In fact, visitors bring in over 35% of the club’s income, and since the club’s return to prominence with the 2007 Ryder Cup Wales Senior Open, those golfers are starting to come from all over the place: Swedes and Germans in particular enjoy coming to Conwy before their own season gets under way. Differences in time zones add real complications to the old paper-based ways, especially for the huge overseas markets in the States and Asia. But an online booking system like Conwy’s is open for business to anyone with a broadband connection, 24/7..

Hesketh & West Lancashire Golf Club - Bookings are much better when they’re online

Martyn Senior, Secretary Manager Martyn helped to develop one of the best offline bookings systems, DJB. As such, Martyn knew all about this kind of application from a club’s perspective. Invited to The Open at Hoylake by The Merseyside Partnership, a regional body promoting the North West for golf tourism, Martyn first heard about the BRS Golf internet-enabled booking system via Steve Mainwaring of St. Anne’s Old Links GC. The Merseyside Partnership’s evaluation of several online tee time booking systems showed BRS was head and shoulders better than anything else available. Martyn then saw it demonstrated at a technology roadshow at Ringway GC, and realised immediately that, as Martyn put it, ‘it ticked all the boxes you could wish for.

Bramshaw GC switches to online course management

"I could see that an online system that was able to be seen by everyone in the network was the answer. But it meant that the development team at BRS had to do a lot of work to tailor their system to my requirements, chief of which was a tee time booking page that showed daily tee times for both our two courses, the Forest and the Manor. The third, Dunwood, would be easier to access by simply switching to its own dedicated on-screen booking site and pages."

Carne links with BRS Golf for internet booking

It’s proved a good decision; the system’s very user-friendly and the training was so straightforward, it could be done over the ‘phone by Brian Smith talking our girls through things while they were online. It’s also very reliable; there’s been no downtime, a point which concerned us after our previous experience.

We’re starting to see strong international interest from golfers not just in Ireland, but from the UK, Europe and the USA. I have no hesitation in recommending the BRS Golf internet booking system. We’re very happywith it and it has everything that we wanted.. Article by Charles de Haan
