Rule 25-2 already allows for a ball embedded in its own pitch mark
("Plugged")in any closely-mown area to be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty, as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole. Given the current course conditions, a temporary local rule is being introduced extending this to "through the green".

Through the green, a ball embedded in its own pitch mark may be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty, as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.
