About BRS Golf

BRS Golf is the leading supplier of Internet based golf tee time booking systems to golf clubs across Ireland and the UK. It was founded in 2002 by Rory Smith and Brian Smith, both very keen single figure handicap golfers. Before starting BRS, they had over 25 years experience in the software industry, working on a wide range of software and Internet projects.

BRS started by developing web sites for golf clubs, but in October 2003 while working with various local clubs, they identified an opportunity to develop an online booking system that would allow Members and Visitors to book their golf online just like booking a flight with Easyjet.

The market leading BRS Tee Time Manager was launched in January 2004 followed by Member and Visitor Online booking in June 2004. The product quickly established itself in Ireland as the market leading product.

The BRS Tee Time Manager was launched in the UK in September 2005 where it has also become the leading product in that marketing attracting a range of customers from Members Courses, Pay and Play, Open Championship venues and many proprietary.

Dr Brian Smith BSc PhD - Director & Founder
Graduated from Queens University in 1995 with a 1st class honours degree in Information Technology and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Prior to BRS Systems, worked 5 years in British Telecom and 1 year in Nortel Networks. In BRS, Brian has overall responsibility for Sales, Marketing and Training.

Rory Smith BEng MSc - Director & Founder
Graduated from Queens University in 1989 with a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Computer Science. Prior to BRS Systems, worked 4 years in Short Brothers PLC and 9 Years in Nortel Networks. In BRS, Rory has overall responsibility for Software Development, Support and Finance.

Brian Magee - Sales (Ireland)
Brian joined BRS Golf in August 2007 after 30 years Sales experience in the Global Textile Industry. Prior to joining BRS Brian worked for McCleery Yarn Technology a division of Lamont Holdings as a Sales & Marketing Director. Brian was Captain of Ardglass Golf Club in 1999.

Bob King - Sales (UK Sales Manager)
Bob joined BRS in September 2008 and brings 25 years software sales and Sales management experience. He has sat on the board of Directors of a Manchester based golf club for the last 6 years, during which time he selected and implemented the BRS products for Admin, members and visitors. Bob also sits on the marketing committee of his club.

Peter Kirk MInstSMM - Sales (Wales and South-West England)
Peter joined BRS in July 2006 and brings over 17 years experience in the golf industry. Prior to joining BRS, he worked for Smart Club Solutions for 7 years and was a founder of Open Fairways.

Barry Johnston - Sales (Scotland)
Barry joined BRS in 2009 and has served as Handicap and Match Secretary, Captain and Secretary/Manager at Auchterarder Golf Club in Perthshire. With over 30 years experience in the IT industry, involving both Technical and Business Development roles, Barry has considerable experience of successfully implementing and utilising IT to improve the efficiency of Core Business Processes within a Golf Club.

Paul Green BSc - Software Development
Graduated from Heriot-Watt University in 2001 with a 2:1 BSc Honours degree in Computer Science. Prior to joining BRS in March 2009, he provided web development solutions and technologies to numerous companies.

Philip Murray BA - Graphic Design
Graduated from University of Ulster in 1988 with 2:1 BA[Hons] in Design. He has 15 years experience as a professional graphic/web designer working for companies in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland on a wide range of web based and print media projects.

Philip McClay - Technical Support, Installations
Prior to joining BRS in March 2007, Philip worked for Smart Club Solutions for almost nine years. He brings experience in managing and supporting a broad range of software for the golf and leisure industries.

Conor Murphy BSc - Technical Support
Conor Graduated from Queens University in 2008 with a 2:1 BSc degree in Business Information Technology. Prior to joining BRS in August 2009, Conor worked in support for a web design company and the Civil Service.

Paul Forsythe BSc - Technical Support
Paul graduated from University of Ulster, Coleraine in 2004 with a 2:1 in Computing Science. Prior to joining BRS in July 2010 Paul worked in support a software development company and as a tester for the National Australia Group.

Patrick McCrudden BA - Customer Support
Patrick Graduated from University of Denver, USA in 2009 with a BA in Business Management & Administration whilst on a golf scholarship. He comes to BRS with a wealth of golfing knowledge having an excellent amateur playing record and also an excellent record of customer service having worked in a number of tourism related businesses on the north-west coast of Northern Ireland.

Stephen Hutchinson BSC- Customer Support
Stephen graduated from University of Ulster, Jordanstown in 2009 with a 2:1 BSc degree in Information Communication Technology. Prior to joining BRS in October 2011, Stephen worked in support for a global emailing system and the Health and Social Trust.

Lesley Williams - Training
Lead Business Analyst with 18 years business analysis experience of in-house development and deployment in the CRM, Contact Management, Purchasing, Sales and Order Management areas. Lesley participated in the design, development and implementation of multiple projects in n-tier technologies and service oriented architectures.

Edel McGeehan BA (Hons) ACA - Accounts
Edel graduated from the University of Ulster in 1998 with a BA (Hons) degree in European Business Studies. Edel trained as a Chartered Accountant with Muldoon & Co Chartered Accountants and has experience working with a wide range of clients from sole traders to limited companies. She qualified as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland in 2002. In 2003 she became a partner in a property business where she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the business including all financial administration.

Kirsty Holborn
Prior to joining BRS in 2010, Kirsty worked in Edinburgh as an Assistant Manager of a Business Centre where she had responsibility for the day to day running of the business. Previous to this Kirsty spent 5 years working for British Steel.

Patricia Smith BA, MSc - Admin
